We’re working on a software router used by Fortune 500 companies, focused on high-speed VPN connections and enhanced security across various platforms.

About the role

This is a hands-on Software Architect role focused on the architecture of a network OS. You’ll work directly with the engineering team to define and evolve the architecture, drive technical decisions from design through implementation, and contribute to production code. The team has a flat structure, so this is not a purely advisory role. The architect will stay close to both the product and the codebase.

What you’ll do

• Define and evolve the architecture of the network OS.
• Drive technical decisions from design through implementation.

• Work directly with the engineering team.

What we’re looking for

• Unix: Strong Unix expertise across BSD and Linux.
• Networking: Deep knowledge of routing and network stacks. Experience with packet filtering and tunneling. Familiarity with routers, firewalls, or network appliances would be useful.
• Engineering: Hands-on software engineering experience. Experience contributing to production code. Golang experience in systems software or network services would be a plus. Familiarity with PHP would also be useful.
• Architecture: Experience designing system architecture and taking it through to implementation. Ability to drive technical decisions from design through implementation. Ability to work directly with engineers in a flat team structure.

Position Details

• Capacity: Full-time.
• Location: Remote.
