What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for low-power wireless MCUs and SDKs.
• Own hardware feature support throughout the entire IC lifecycle from design and verification to release.
• Build low-level firmware components including device drivers, initialization code, and timing-sensitive system software.
• Optimize software for performance, power efficiency, and CPU/memory utilization in real-time environments.
• Debug complex issues across software, firmware, and hardware boundaries using JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Collaborate with silicon and systems teams to define requirements and support new device bring-up.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software or firmware development.
• Strong programming skills in Embedded C and/or C++.
• Experience with microcontrollers in resource-constrained, RTOS-based or bare-metal environments.
• Hands-on debugging experience at the hardware/software boundary.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Austin, TX.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, Thread, Wi-Fi, or proprietary radio systems.
• Knowledge of PHY/MAC-related functionality and timing-critical embedded software.
• Proficiency in Python for tooling, automation, and testing.
• Familiarity with ARM or RISC-V MCU architectures.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
