What you will do

• Design and build data handling systems to satisfy strict GDPR requirements, including "Right to be Forgotten" automation and consent management.
• Develop and optimize computer vision and ML pipelines to automatically blur PII (faces, license plates) from camera and Lidar data at the edge and in the cloud.
• Write scalable code in C++, Java, and Kotlin to enforce data retention policies, access controls, and data minimization.
• Translate complex regulatory texts, such as the EU Data & AI Act, into concrete engineering specifications.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIA) and threat modeling, focusing on cross-border data transfer risks.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on privacy, security, or data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Java.
• Deep understanding of GDPR.
• Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Flume, MapReduce) and cloud infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience helping a US-based company launch products in the EEA or UK.
• Familiarity with privacy-preserving ML techniques like Differential Privacy, Federated Learning, or Homomorphic Encryption.
• Experience building first-class user-facing products.
