Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Platform Engineer (DevOps): Building and supporting the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) where Apptio applications are deployed with an accent on improving developer velocity and platform best practices. Focus on developing self-service features, managing deployments via ArgoCD, streamlining CI processes with GitHub Actions, and enhancing observability of services.

Location: Remote (Australia (Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney))

What you will do

• Develop self-service features and services to boost developer velocity
• Manage deployments of Apptio services using ArgoCD
• Streamline CI processes with GitHub Actions and create reusable templates
• Improve observability through KPI dashboards and alerting
• Troubleshoot and triage production issues using runbooks (Tier 1-2)
• Participate in on-call rotation, swarm sessions, and platform maintenance

Requirements

• Fluent English
• 2+ years in Platform Development, DevOps, SRE or similar
• Experience with programming/scripting (preferably Golang)
• Distributed application deployment and container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• RESTful APIs and familiarity with remote team collaboration
• Bachelor's Degree

Nice to have

• Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Splunk, Datadog)
• GitOps and CI/CD principles
• Internal Developer Platform experience
• CNCF products (Cilium, Karpenter) and HashiCorp suite (Vault, Terraform, Consul)
