Location: Redmond, United States (hybrid: expected 4 days/week in office for employees within 50-mile commute)

Salary: USD $100,600 – $199,000 per year (USD $131,400 – $215,400 in San Francisco Bay area and New York City)

What you will do

• Work across backend (C# services, distributed systems, prompt engineering) and frontend (responsive UIs with server/client frameworks) to deliver features.
• Determine user requirements, identify dependencies, and develop design documents with stakeholders.
• Implement code, reuse components, break down work items, and provide estimates.
• Act as DRI for on-call monitoring, restoring services for simple issues.
• Stay current with developments to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, and performance at scale.

Requirements

• Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud background check and security screenings.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related AND 2+ years engineering experience with coding (C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python) OR equivalent.
• Experience building backend and frontend systems.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree AND 3+ years or Bachelor’s AND 5+ years experience.
• Experience with React or similar JS frameworks.
• Native mobile development (iOS Swift, Android Kotlin).
• Familiarity with AI/ML, LLMs, prompt engineering.
