What you will do

• Identify and pursue media opportunities to showcase leadership in open-access and the publishing landscape.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers in science, academia, and education.
• Develop media materials including press releases, op-eds, position statements, and spokesperson talking points.
• Manage media measurement, reporting, and the media component of the company website.
• Train and mentor junior team members in media writing, pitching, and relationship management.
• Coordinate with agencies for content dissemination across appropriate regions.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in media relations, journalism, or PR (agency, in-house, or newsroom).
• Proven track record of securing positive coverage in quality tier-1 publications.
• Established network of media contacts in science, academia, or policy.
• Native English proficiency.
• Proactive attitude and a keen eye for detail.

Nice to have
