Summer Internship - FloTrack/MileSplit (Track & Field): Create engaging cross-country and track & field content through written and video storytelling with an accent on interviewing athletes, social media videos, and rankings generation. Focus on recapping events, SEO optimization, editorial best practices, and collaborative support for content teams.

Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX. Must be based in Austin.

Salary: $18/hour (25-30 hrs/week)

Leading digital platform for underserved sports, streaming 50,000+ live events annually across various sports including track & field.

What you will do

• Create engaging content through written articles and video storytelling for cross-country and track & field.
• Interview top-level athletes, primarily professionals.
• Edit built-for-social videos for Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
• Generate rankings using MileSplit database and recap/preview major events.
• Apply editorial best practices for tagging, SEO, and crosslinking.
• Collaborate with FloTrack and MileSplit content teams to support goals.

Requirements

• Available May through September, minimum 25-30 hrs/week.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in cross-country and track & field.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or similar for editing reels and longer content.
• Experience in journalism, AP style, writing, proofreading, and editing.
• Understanding of SEO best practices.
• Comfortable with Adobe Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Strong research, organizational, time management, listening, and communication skills.
• Experience meeting deadlines in dynamic environments.

Nice to have

• Graphic design, photography, and video production/editing skills.
• Highly motivated to learn sports media.
