What you will do

• Provide editorial support to the assignment desk, including making phone calls and booking interviews.
• Assist producers with location support, travel booking, and scouting live shot positions.
• Pitch, research, and develop stories for various network and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with the assignment desk, producers, and correspondents to understand network news operations.
• Log press conferences and support the coverage of the Midwest region.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program from September 2026 through April 2027.
• Must be presently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be willing to work onsite in Chicago, IL.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (minimum 30 credits).
• Availability to work 16-24 hours per week.

Nice to have

• Junior class standing or above.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Major in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or Production.
• Previous internship experience and on-campus involvement.
• Strong demonstrated knowledge of current affairs.
