What you will do

• Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Group’s internal controls assurance programme.
• Oversee and challenge the design and operating effectiveness assessments of material and key controls.
• Provide senior-level independent challenge and insights to Executive Management and governance committees.
• Mentor and develop assurance capability within the Internal Controls team, embedding high standards of delivery.
• Develop innovative continuous monitoring solutions by utilizing data analytics and AI use cases.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading internal controls assurance, internal audit, or risk-based assurance in complex or regulated organisations.
• Proven ability to engage, influence, and challenge senior stakeholders at the ExCo and Committee level.
• Deep understanding of internal controls frameworks, assurance methodologies, and risk assessment.
• Strong knowledge of governance and regulatory expectations, including the UK Corporate Governance Code.
• Experience using technologies and data analytics to focus and execute assurance activities.
