What you will do

• Own the assurance review schedule and maintain accurate risk ratings for the Direct Customer book.
• Scope and conduct in-depth reviews of financial crime controls, identifying gaps and weaknesses.
• Produce formal review reports with clear findings and risk rating recommendations.
• Draft and track recommendations with customers until full closure is confirmed.
• Engage directly with external stakeholders, including CEOs and Compliance Managers, to share findings.
• Contribute to the development of the function, including automation projects.

Requirements

• Professional experience in financial crime compliance, specifically in audit, assurance, or monitoring.
• Hands-on experience conducting assurance reviews and identifying control framework gaps.
• Strong proficiency in writing formal reports and recommendations.
• Deep understanding of AML, sanctions, KYC, transaction monitoring, and SARs.
• Confidence in managing difficult conversations with external stakeholders.
• Must be based in the UK.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with embedded finance onboarding models (managed, reliance, or outsourced).
• Relevant financial crime qualification, such as an ICA diploma.
• Experience presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
