TL;DR

Operational Oversight Manager (Financial Services): Ensure robust systems, controls and governance for the Trustee Oversight function with an accent on managing risks, meeting regulatory requirements and supporting strategic objectives. Focus on providing first-line oversight of SIPP operational activities, conducting root cause analysis of exceptions, and leading team development and process improvements.

Location: Manchester - Hybrid (minimum 50% of working time in the office; initial full-time office for new starters)

What you will do

  • Provide first-line oversight of SIPP Trustee operational activities, ensuring controls and governance for risk management and compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and monitor key SIPP processes like benefits processing, contributions, and transfers.
  • Identify, assess, and record SIPP Trustee risks; maintain management information and track open actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of exceptions and trends to drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor market developments and regulatory changes, providing analysis and recommendations.
  • Contribute to change initiatives and process improvements aligned with regulations and business needs.
  • Lead and develop the team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and effective resource management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and developing teams in financial services
  • CISI Investment Operations Certificate (IOC)
  • Proactive communicator at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Strong planning, time management, and escalation skills
