What you will do

• Own the end-to-end ML lifecycle for medium-to-large projects, from problem framing and prototyping to deployment and monitoring.
• Design scalable ML systems, including data pipelines, feature computation, and model serving in partnership with engineering.
• Develop and iterate on supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning models for prediction, recommendation, and optimization.
• Build and iterate on LLM-powered applications using prompting, RAG, and tool/function-calling patterns.
• Apply causal inference and A/B testing to measure impact and guide strategic decision-making.
• Mentor junior scientists and define technical best practices for AI agent development and evaluation.

Requirements

• PhD in a quantitative field with ~3+ years of industry experience, or a Master's degree with ~5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record of building and deploying production ML models that meaningfully impact business metrics.
• Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow, PySpark) and proficiency in SQL.
• Deep knowledge of ML theory, statistics, experimental design, and basic causal inference.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI/LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, Anthropic, Gemini).
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Domain experience in customer service, recommendations, personalization, or e-commerce.
• Experience with reinforcement learning, bandits, or sequence modeling.
• Experience building ML systems for operational decision-making such as contact routing or workflow optimization.
