Salary: $251,000—$310,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead the development of ML solutions for decision making and motion planning, including shaping data, reward, and loss functions.
• Analyze, fine-tune, and evaluate model performance using data-driven approaches.
• Integrate and deploy ML models on the fleet, conducting end-to-end validation and on-field monitoring.
• Prototype and deploy novel SOTA solutions based on the latest advancements in autonomous driving and ML.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in perception, research, simulation, and evaluation.
• Mentor engineers in the adoption of ML-based approaches for solving complex reasoning problems.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering or machine learning experience.
• Expertise in applied ML, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, and model evaluation.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one deep learning framework (PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow).
• Experience with high-quality API design and handling large-scale models and datasets.
• Must be based in or able to work from Mountain View or San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience in the autonomous driving domain, specifically motion planning or perception.
• Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLM), Vision Language Models (VLM), and prompt engineering.
• Experience building scalable evaluation workflows and ML metrics.
• Proficiency in C++.
