What you will do

  • Research and implement long-tail 3D entity recognition by leveraging pre-trained 2D models.
  • Advance 3D perception capabilities through RGB-only methods and RGB-LiDAR fusion using PyTorch.
  • Develop a vector-based search system for scene databases using embedding models like CLIP.
  • Build an end-to-end audio signal processing pipeline for real-time onboard siren recognition.
  • Prototype and evaluate novel system architectures within a complex, safety-critical simulation and real-world environment.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, ML, or Applied Mathematics (expected graduation Winter 2026 – Spring 2027).
  • Strong foundation in deep learning, computer vision, reinforcement learning, or probabilistic modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement algorithms from academic research papers.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • No relocation sponsorship provided.
