Location: Must be based in Vancouver, Canada (Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite per week).

Salary: C$87,200–C$111,600 per year.

What you will do

• Retarget motion data between hierarchies independently and proficiently.
• Adjust and improve actor performances in a non-destructive manner to meet high quality standards.
• Refine character interactions with props, terrain, and other characters.
• Enhance animation quality by adding secondary motion like fingers, toes, and tails, while adjusting posture and weight.
• Create fluid, believable transitions between animation clips using motion blending techniques.
• Mentor junior team members, troubleshoot technical issues, and teach animation techniques.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Vancouver, Canada.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, or Computer Animation, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience in high-end film VFX or the video game industry.
• Strong proficiency in MotionBuilder, Blender, or Maya with motion-captured data.
• Deep understanding of retargeting techniques and principles of animation.
• Ability to provide an up-to-date showreel showcasing relevant work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux and Vicon Shogun Post.
• Background in Mocap animation.
