Staff Production Engineer (Public Sector): Own and evolve the secure infrastructure, IAM, access patterns, and guardrails for Databricks’ global platform across AWS, Azure, and GCP with an accent on sovereign layer in regulated environments. Focus on designing reliable automation, security data pipelines, and compliance controls for high-availability in FedRAMP/GovCloud.
Location: Virginia. Candidates must be eligible for a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance. Nice to have: current polygraph.
Salary: $162,000 — $222,750 USD

What you will do
- Design, automate, and operate IAM, account/subscription, and project lifecycle across AWS, Azure, and GCP, enforcing least-privilege access at scale.
- Build and maintain reliable, observable automation and tooling for safe, repeatable cloud changes.
- Own security and audit logging data pipelines from cloud providers into internal systems.
- Operate specialized, highly regulated environments like FedRAMP/GovCloud, including release management and patching.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for incidents impacting cloud accounts, IAM, or security pipelines.
- Partner with Security, Compliance, Audit, product engineering, and field teams on incidents and policy updates.
Requirements
- Eligible for Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance; current polygraph highly desired.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; 8+ years operating and automating large-scale cloud environments.
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP in IAM, networking, accounts, and audit logging.
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code and automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD).
- Experience in security-sensitive or regulated environments (SOC2, FedRAMP, ISO 27001).
- Success running high-availability services with on-call and incident management.
Nice to have
- Experience with Okta, Opal, or similar identity/access tooling.
- Background operating secure admin workstations (SAW).
- Experience migrating cloud accounts during M&A or reorganizations.
