Forward Deployed Engineer, Federal (Onsite - Lexington Park, MD)

Location: Full-time on-site at a secure government facility in Lexington Park, Maryland, United States. Regular travel to the Tysons, Virginia office and occasional travel to other customer sites may be required.

Salary: $120,000–$158,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain a disconnected, on-premises hirify.global Platform deployment to maximize system uptime.
• Diagnose incidents and outages, identify root causes, restore service, and document findings.
• Monitor system health and build alerting, automation, and runbooks to prevent recurring issues.
• Plan and perform upgrades and security patches using offline artifacts.
• Support customer applications, troubleshoot issues, gather use cases, and translate customer needs into requirements and enhancements.
• Surface technical risks and collaborate with product, engineering, and SRE teams to improve product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent professional experience.
• Software development experience with JavaScript and Python; Python or Bash scripting experience is preferred for system automation and monitoring.
• Customer-facing experience with strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship, an active Secret clearance, and the ability to obtain additional program access are required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship.
• Full-time on-site work at a secure government facility is required.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying, managing, and operating scalable, fault-tolerant Kubernetes infrastructure, especially on-premises.
• Expertise in Linux, networking, and database concepts.
• Experience with Git or other version-control software.
• At least two years of professional software development experience with object-oriented programming languages.
