Test Automation Engineer

TL;DR

Health Data Management (HDM-VDIF) program supporting VA software products, middleware, system integrations, and EHR.

What you will do

• Develop automated tests with developers, analysts, and testers for middleware, APIs, and data layers.
• Design and execute tests against user stories, including functional, non-functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Perform data validations using SQL and tools like Query Analyzer or Redgate.
• Create and maintain scalable test automation frameworks with Selenium, TestNG, ReadyAPI/SoapUI, and Groovy.
• Collaborate on enterprise test strategy, provide estimates, and troubleshoot issues with delivery teams.
• Plan regression testing for releases and improve test execution processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related; minimum 10 years experience.
• Skilled in manual/automated testing for middleware (Java, Node.js, AWS) using Selenium, TestNG, Java scripting.
• Proficient in JIRA for test/defect management; familiar with Rally and artifacts tools.
• Knowledge of Section 508 tools (Andi, JAWS) and AWS services (Step Functions, Lambda, CloudWatch).
• Expertise in API/data test frameworks, ReadyAPI/SoapUI, Groovy, CI/CD, performance/regression testing.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork in Agile environments; US residency required.

Nice to have

• Experience with VA or health organizations.
• Work in multi-stakeholder Agile/DevSecOps.
• Ability to obtain government clearance.
