What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and lead a small team of software engineers as an individual contributor.
• Design and develop cloud-enabled products using serverless, event-driven microservices (AWS SAM/Lambda, EventBridge, SNS).
• Build and maintain high-quality integrations between the platform and third-party HRIS systems such as ADP and Workday.
• Own and enhance the public API platform, focusing on REST design, OAuth implementation, and webhook management.
• Translate high-level product requirements into pragmatic workstreams, design specifications, and sprint stories.
• Mentor engineers through advice, coaching, and training while advocating for modern agile methodologies.

Requirements

• Must be based in Ireland.
• Strong command of serverless architectures, specifically using AWS SAM/Lambda.
• Deep practical experience designing and working with DynamoDB (NoSQL).
• Proven experience building microservices and bounded contexts, including anti-corruption layers.
• Demonstrated ability in REST API design, OAuth, and event-driven patterns using AWS EventBridge and SNS.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Node.js, and CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions.

Nice to have

• Experience in a product engineering space translating high-level requirements into technical plans.
• Experience with third-party integrations for major HRIS systems (Workday, SAP, ADP).
• Familiarity with modern AI tools, such as Cursor.
• Experience working within a startup or high-growth environment.
