What you will do

• Commission, optimize, and stabilize coating processes for optical components, including anti-reflective coatings, mirrors, and filters.
• Supervise, maintain, and develop vacuum coating systems such as PVD, IAD, IBS, and magnetron sputtering.
• Plan and evaluate process experiments (DoE) to improve coating properties and process stability.
• Perform root cause analyses and troubleshooting to resolve process deviations.
• Create and maintain technical work instructions and process specifications.
• Conduct environmental and climate testing and evaluate optical functional coatings.

Requirements

• Technical training as a certified electrician, physics laboratory technician, or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of vacuum technology and thin-film physics.
• Good written and spoken German and English skills.
• Analytical thinking and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Nice to have

• Several years of professional experience in optical thin-film coating or vacuum process engineering.
• Experience with optical measurement techniques such as spectrophotometry and ellipsometry.
