What you will do

• Design and implement scalable data solutions in partnership with engineers and stakeholders.
• Maintain system reliability via a shared on-call rotation, focusing on incident response and prevention.
• Define technical requirements, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with Product and Engineering.
• Review code and database changes to reduce technical debt and improve system quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues and monitor database health using Splunk, Datadog, and Grafana.
• Implement modern engineering practices including Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.

Requirements

• Around 4+ years of experience in database engineering or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including query plan optimization and indexing strategies.
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server.
• Experience with search technologies such as Solr, Lucene, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience working with distributed systems and modern private cloud environments.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka or AMQ.
• Ability to write scripts or automation tools in Python or Java.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems.
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.
• Passion for AI-assisted development using tools like GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, or Claude Code.
