What you will do

• Own the reference architecture for the AI platform, including API abstractions, RAG infrastructure, vector retrieval, and model serving.
• Lead build-vs-buy evaluations for AI components and design foundational data pipelines for scalable AI services.
• Develop backend services using Python (FastAPI, Django) and build platform APIs to enable safe AI adoption.
• Implement LLM integrations, context management, prompt templating, and reproducible evaluation frameworks.
• Collaborate with Security and Product teams to ensure compliance with financial data governance and privacy standards.
• Mentor L3–L4 engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and architectural guidance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated cross-team architectural influence.
• Proven end-to-end delivery of AI-powered features from concept to production.
• Strong proficiency in Python, RESTful API development, and full-stack development (React, TypeScript).
• Hands-on experience with GenAI patterns, including RAG pipelines and LLM evaluation.
• Experience with AWS, vector databases (Pinecone, pgvector, OpenSearch), and IaC tools (Terraform/Pulumi).
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience building software for financial services or regulated fintech environments.
• Familiarity with AI governance (NCUA, model risk, fair lending).
• Knowledge of SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
