Public Affairs Manager (GBSG and Corporate Responsibility): Drive end-to-end public affairs campaigns for small business policy priorities with an accent on strategic alliances, third-party outreach, and amplification of company messaging. Focus on shaping legislative debates, managing grasstops advocacy, and partnering with executives on policy outcomes benefiting QuickBooks and Mailchimp customers.

Location: Hybrid with 3 days per week onsite in Washington, DC office

What you will do

  • Drive federal/state/local public affairs activities for GBSG and CR portfolio, including alliances and third-party outreach to shape policy for small business customers.
  • Manage consultants and agencies to produce content for policy outcomes benefiting small and mid-market businesses.
  • Serve as strategic partner to C-suite for policy moments, preparing remarks, briefing materials, and social content.
  • Manage grasstops advocacy programs, including recruitment, fly-ins, and activation of business advocates.
  • Amplify research and data through media, events, and coalitions.
  • Build relationships with trade associations and advocacy organizations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-10 years in political campaigns, government, public affairs, or PR with corporation/agency/trade association
  • Experience on political campaigns or in capitals (US or international) preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Project/program management skills with organization and attention to detail
  • Third-party relationship building and campaign management experience
  • Strong writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Executive acumen and ethical standards
