TL;DR

Security Reliability Engineer: Design, build, and operate reliable, secure, scalable infrastructure underpinning identity, access, endpoint, and shared platform services with an accent on SRE principles, security by default, and operational leverage. Focus on owning full lifecycle of on-prem and hybrid systems, implementing infrastructure as code, automating toil reduction, and leading incident response.

What you will do

• Define and evolve infrastructure patterns for on-prem, hybrid, and lab environments using standardized IaC building blocks.
• Own full lifecycle of infrastructure systems including deployment, upgrades, patching, recovery, and operations.
• Build and operate monitoring, alerting, incident response, and containerized services like Kubernetes and Docker.
• Implement automation, guardrails, and safety mechanisms to eliminate toil and reduce risk.
• Partner with Security, Identity, Network, and Platform teams to enforce policies and drive reliability improvements.
• Lead postmortems, coach engineers, and influence cross-functional improvements without direct authority.

Requirements

• 10+ years operating and architecting mission-critical infrastructure in high-reliability environments
• Experience leading design and maturation of complex on-prem, hybrid, or cloud-integrated systems.
• Strong application of SRE principles: observability, automation, incident learnings to reduce toil and risk.
• Comfort in ambiguity, sound architectural decisions under pressure, close to technical details.
• Ability to influence partners across security, identity, network, and platform teams.
• Based in San Francisco HQ; in-office presence required

Nice to have

• Experience with R&D labs, manufacturing, or safety-critical environments.
• Hands-on with fleet/endpoint platforms like FleetDM, Chef, or Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Close partnership with identity or security teams on hardened infrastructure.
