TL;DR

Database Administrator (PostgreSQL/AWS): Provide architectural guidance and expertise for database systems in cloud-native applications supporting border enforcement for DHS with an accent on data modeling, performance optimization, security, and integration. Focus on designing scalable RDBMS solutions, implementing ETL processes, and ensuring compliance in a SecDevOps agile environment.

Hybrid schedule with on-site requirement in Ashburn, VA. Must be a U.S. Citizen able to pass CBP background investigation.

What you will do

• Shape data architecture for national security applications, providing high-level guidance and innovation.
• Work with database developers across product teams in Agile Scrum processes, including sprint planning, testing, and releases.
• Analyze problems and create solutions involving technology, analytics, and advanced components.
• Champion data standards, governance, and emerging technologies.
• Deliver deployable software in short sprints with geographically distributed teams.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen with ability to pass CBP background investigation (3-year felony check, 1-year drug/misconduct check).
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years experience designing, implementing, and optimizing database systems.
• Available for hybrid schedule with on-site in Ashburn, VA.
• Experience with PostgreSQL in AWS: data modeling, tuning, security, backup/recovery.
• Strong SQL skills; knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, NoSQL (DynamoDB, etc.); CDC, ETL, cloud DB services, microservices.

Nice to have

• Experience with NoSQL (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB), geospatial data, Apache Kafka, Collibra.
• CI/CD, DevOps, cloud migrations (AWS, GCP, Azure).
