Portfolio Finance Manager (Energy)

TL;DR

Portfolio Finance Manager (Energy): Managing and tracking all commercial aspects of a BESS project portfolio with an accent on accounting compliance, contract adherence, and financial internal controls. Focus on driving project performance through change orders, managing supplier claims, and maintaining monthly estimates at completion.

Location: In-Office (4 days per week) in Arlington (VA), Alpharetta (GA), or Houston (TX). Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

What you will do

• Manage and track all commercial aspects of a BESS project portfolio within the Americas region.
• Collaborate with project managers to maintain monthly Estimates at Completion for Revenue, Cost, and Margin.
• Ensure adherence to accounting guidelines, commercial terms, and internal Order-to-Cash controls.
• Improve project performance by managing change orders, supplier claims, and mitigating contract penalties.
• Review and process project transactions, including purchase requisitions and invoices.
• Oversee construction subcontractors and suppliers to ensure delivery timelines and quality.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• 5+ years of experience in financial management of large projects, preferably in the energy sector.
• Advanced knowledge of project accounting (POC revenue recognition) and the project lifecycle.
• Expertise in commercial contract terms, risk management, insurance, and guarantees.
• Experience with NetSuite, SAP, Unifier Primavera, or similar project management systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Nice to have

• MBA or CPA certification.
• Proficiency in Spanish (written and spoken).
