Data Architect: Architectural design for new data-centric systems, primarily focused on data flow pipelines, storage and analytics with an accent on analysis of business problems, system requirements and technology evaluation. Focus on engaging stakeholders, providing technical leadership to engineering teams and building an Architecture function.

What you will do

• Design architecture for data flow pipelines, storage and analytics systems
• Analyze business problems to define system requirements including performance, availability and security
• Engage technical and non-technical stakeholders, advise and manage expectations
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms and services
• Lead engineering teams, provide mentoring and represent the company externally
• Contribute to building the Architecture function alongside Data Scientists, Analysts and Engineers

Requirements

• Strong communication skills: written, diagrammatic and spoken, with ability to present to senior stakeholders
• Experience with varied data types: tabular, connected, time-series, geospatial, image
• Knowledge of database types: relational, document, graph, columnar, key-value
• Experience with large-scale data processing: Hadoop, Spark
• Business intelligence, analytics products, data visualization frameworks
• Cloud platforms, PaaS/SaaS, data integration, distributed computing, information security
• Data analysis and modeling; programming in Java or Python as bonus

Nice to have

• Experience in traditional data warehousing and contemporary open-source data architectures
• Agile working principles
