Salary: $145K – $175K + Equity

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate models into agent-based AI products and autonomous systems.
• Own architectural decisions for new product features and ensure system security and performance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers through technical reviews and mentorship.
• Contribute to an engineering culture of speed, quality, and pragmatic innovation.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience building backend systems and distributed infrastructure.
• Fluency in TypeScript and Node.js or a similar modern backend stack.
• Experience with microservices, async job queues, and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in the Bay Area (San Francisco).
• Degree in Computer Science, AI, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with code search, code graphs, tree-sitter, or static analysis tools.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM-based systems into product workflows.
• Designing or implementing agent-based systems or autonomous AI agents.
• Contributions to open-source or community projects.
