Location: Hybrid in Utrecht (NL). Must be located in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands. Unable to consider candidates requiring relocation from another country.

Salary: €4,931 - €7,043 gross monthly (scale 09, 36 hours)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain robust PostgreSQL solutions for high availability, performance, and security
• Conduct complex performance analysis, query optimization, replication, partitioning, and clustering
• Integrate PostgreSQL into CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, migrations, and validation
• Implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, alerting, and observability
• Build idempotent automation for delivery, operations, decommissioning, and APIs for second-day operations
• Guide teams on database best practices, mentor juniors, and collaborate with engineers, product owners, and security

Requirements

• 5+ years hands-on PostgreSQL experience in large enterprise environments
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL features: indexing, query tuning, data modeling, replication, partitioning, high availability
• Strong SQL expertise including advanced constructs and query analysis
• Experience with automation (Ansible), containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes preferred)
• 3+ years developing infrastructure code; on-premise (psql, barman, PEM) and cloud (AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL)
• Strong database security, authentication, auditing, encryption; monitoring (OBM, PEM, scripts)
• Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
