Billing & Analytics Software Engineer (AI)

Location: USA - Remote

Salary: $180,000–$245,000 annual base salary, plus potential bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Design and operate usage metering pipelines for inference and voice agent events with high reliability, idempotency, and exactly-once processing.
• Build aggregation and summarization layers for customer, product, time-window, and pricing-dimension usage.
• Integrate usage-based billing platforms and implement rating, plan management, invoicing, and billing reconciliation.
• Develop Salesforce and RevOps integrations for accounts, contract terms, entitlements, billing status, revenue recognition, and forecasting.
• Build customer-facing Console dashboards and self-service flows for usage visibility, plan upgrades, payment methods, and invoice retrieval.
• Develop analytics, reconciliation, observability, authorization, token-management, and plan-based access-control systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating billing, payments, metering, or financial data systems in SaaS or usage-based pricing environments.
• Strong backend engineering skills, preferably in Rust, plus Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go, or a similar language.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, schema modeling, query optimization, data pipelines, and high-volume event processing.
• Hands-on experience integrating billing or subscription platforms such as Stripe, M3ter, Metronome, Chargebee, or Zuora, and CRM systems such as Salesforce.
• Experience with usage-based pricing, reconciliation, financial data integrity, authentication, token management, and access control.
• Strong communication skills for partnering with Finance, RevOps, Product, and Growth.

Nice to have

• Experience with M3ter, Metronome, or custom metering systems.
• Familiarity with product-led growth, event-driven architectures such as Kafka, SQS, or Pub/Sub, and revenue recognition or SOX controls.
• Experience with Looker, Metabase, dbt, or similar analytics and BI tooling.
