Location: Based in San Francisco, CA. Hybrid work model (3 days in office per week). Relocation assistance available.

Salary: $342,000 – $555,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Define rack- and cluster-level reference architectures for AI infrastructure deployments.
• Translate AI workload requirements into clear system design specifications and deliverables for external partners.
• Collaborate with performance modeling teams to evaluate architectural tradeoffs and system behaviors.
• Align internal stakeholders and external vendors (ODM/JDM, silicon, networking) on performance, cost, power, and reliability.
• Identify technology gaps and influence vendor roadmaps to meet future infrastructure needs.
• Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) efforts to validate new architectures and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Strong experience in system architecture for large-scale infrastructure or data center environments.
• Deep understanding of AI workload characteristics and their mapping to system-level design decisions.
• Proven track record of managing hardware vendors, including ODM/JDM, silicon, and networking partners.
• Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into clear, executable system designs.
• Experience using performance modeling outputs to inform architectural direction.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience defining systems specifically for hyperscale or AI workloads.
• Familiarity with accelerators (GPUs/ASICs), interconnects, and data center networking architectures.
• Background in infrastructure deployment, hardware engineering, or systems integration.
• Experience leading early-stage hardware validation or PoCs.
