What you will do

• Contribute to the Observe Agent (custom OpenTelemetry collector) by building receivers, processors, and exporters.
• Build and maintain configuration-heavy systems including OTel collector configs, Helm charts, and Kubernetes manifests.
• Design and implement control-plane APIs and data models for ingestion state and pipeline errors.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to deliver seamless in-product onboarding flows.
• Debug complex ingestion issues spanning agents, pipelines, and backend systems.
• Translate low-level distributed system behavior into actionable signals for engineering and customer teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering focusing on backend, distributed systems, or infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Go or another statically typed language.
• Experience with distributed systems, data pipelines, or agent-based software architectures.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
• Ability to navigate large open-source codebases and a systematic approach to debugging production environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenTelemetry, observability agents, or telemetry pipeline architectures.
• Background building or operating control planes for distributed systems.
• Prior work on developer onboarding flows or configuration management.
• Exposure to platform, infrastructure, or SRE-adjacent team environments.
