IT System Administrator (Linux)

TL;DR

IT System Administrator (Linux/Infrastructure): Supporting and scaling internal infrastructure and business systems with an accent on Linux/Windows server administration, M365 management, and networking. Focus on improving infrastructure reliability, automating operational toil via scripting, and managing identity systems.

Location: On-site in Toronto, Ontario. Relocation packages available for approved roles.

Salary: $60,356 – $110,356 CAD annually

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated infrastructure, systems, and application issues.
• Support core IT operations, including employee onboarding/offboarding and access provisioning.
• Administer Linux and Windows server environments and Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, and SharePoint.
• Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP.
• Develop scripts in Bash, Python, and PowerShell to improve operational efficiency and eliminate manual toil.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for infrastructure, procedures, and system changes.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure, or internal IT operations.
• Strong proficiency in administering Linux systems in production and supporting Windows environments.
• Solid understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, VPNs).
• Hands-on experience administering M365 environments and Entra ID.
• Experience writing automation scripts using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Toronto, Ontario.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, IAM).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience with Docker or containerized environments.
• Experience building automations using APIs to integrate SaaS platforms with internal systems.
