Commercial Finance Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Sheffield or London office (at least 3 days a week). Must have the right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, reforecasting, and long-range planning, building and maintaining financial models for strategic decisions.
• Produce monthly management accounts, board packs, investor reporting, and variance analysis with financial commentary.
• Own departmental P&Ls end-to-end, manage month-end close, and improve cost allocation methodologies.
• Oversee finance operations including revenue recognition, billing, and intercompany accounting.
• Partner with senior leaders and department heads to review performance, challenge assumptions, and drive budget accountability.

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (Big 4 or practice-trained background welcomed).
• 3–6 years post-qualification experience, including at least 2 years in FP&A, strategic finance, or commercial finance.
• Proven experience building financial models and delivering insights in high-growth environments.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills for 3-statement models; comfortable with management accounting (month-end, variance, cost allocation).
• Experience with board-level/investor reporting and revenue recognition/billing (desirable).
• Right to work in the UK required.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, lending, credit, or financial services.
• NetSuite or similar ERP; Power BI or equivalent BI tool; SQL skills.
• Exposure to fundraising, M&A, or complex commercial deals.
