What you will do

• Own MHE automation technical direction including system requirements, standard designs, performance criteria, and deployment playbooks.
• Lead multi-site rollouts from site readiness and installation to commissioning, cutover, hypercare, and steady-state handoff.
• Build capacity models, translate forecasts into equipment sizing, and validate with on-floor performance.
• Design for failure with bypass workflows, redundancy, go/no-go gates, and contingency plans.
• Manage vendors through RFPs, specifications, FAT/SAT, and performance guarantees in contracts.
• Drive reliability with uptime/OEE targets, maintenance strategies, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Hybrid in Philadelphia; significant on-site time during installs and ramp periods
• 8–15+ years in automation/MHE/operations engineering with hands-on sorter automation deployments at scale.
• Track record leading end-to-end vendor execution, RFPs, FAT/SAT, and early-life stabilization.
• Deep knowledge of sortation types, conveyors, scanning, diverts, and operational interfaces.
• Experience in reliability metrics (OEE, MTBF/MTTR), root-cause programs, and controls troubleshooting.
• Data-driven with Excel/SQL for modeling throughput, constraints, and trends.

Nice to have

• Facility layouts and flow modeling with AutoCAD, ROI analysis.
• CMMS, OEE dashboards, FMEA/RCM for reliability programs.
• Familiarity with vendors like Dematic, Vanderlande, Honeywell.
• Certifications (Lean/Six Sigma, PMP, CMRP) or advanced engineering degree.
