Control Systems Senior Engineer (BMS): Planning and executing verification testing for Battery Management System software using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) benches with an accent on software verification, plant model development, and technical leadership. Salary: £57,737 - £86,000 per annum

What you will do

• Plan and execute verification testing for the latest BMS software using state-of-the-art Hardware-in-Loop (HiL) test benches.
• Review software changes and define test requirements using HiL, SiL, and on-pack verification methods.
• Maintain local HiL hardware and collaborate with suppliers to enhance test capability and coverage.
• Support the development of HiL plant models for a growing range of battery system architectures.
• Collaborate with the global BMS verification test team to optimize HiL utilization across multiple hardware generations.
• Define, track, and report test coverage metrics for each BMS software release.

Requirements

• Experience in the development or testing of model-based controls in embedded software environments.
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and software changes to define effective test options.
• Must be based in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Strong analytical thinking and technical troubleshooting skills for resolving hardware and software issues.
• Knowledge of product testing approaches, including designing and executing testing strategies.
• Clear and effective communication skills with a strong quality focus.

Nice to have

• Understanding of electrification or electric powertrain elements (battery systems, motors, inverters, power electronics).
• Experience with hirify.global control software processes and tools.
• Experience with HiL test equipment and the ability to program automated tests.
• Knowledge of software version control systems, specifically Git.
