Salary: $120,000 – $189,000 per year
Company
is a startup building cutting-edge power electronics and scalable hardware solutions to accelerate the electrification of the power grid.
What you will do
- Execute thermal and fluids testing from component-level characterization to full system validation.
- Develop test plans and Design-of-Experiments (DoE) to turn hypotheses into crisp pass/fail criteria.
- Design and build test fixtures and rigs, integrating DAQs, sensors, and plumbing systems.
- Automate test execution, data logging, and post-processing to enable fast iteration loops.
- Lead root cause and failure analysis to isolate failure mechanisms and verify corrective actions.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a background in thermodynamics or fluids engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of industry or research experience in a lab environment.
- Sound knowledge of flow physics, hydraulics, and heat transfer.
- Proficiency in Python or Matlab and experience with source control (Github/Bitbucket).
- Experience using DAQs and equipment such as thermocouples, flow sensors, and pressure sensors.
- Must be based in or able to work on-site in Scotts Valley.
Nice to have
- Simulation and modelling experience in CFD, thermal/RC, or fluid network analysis.
- Experience with commercial CAD packages.
- Background in reliability and statistical analysis.
