What you will do

• Develop and execute multi-channel communication plans aligned with DOD priorities and client objectives.
• Translate complex DOD initiatives into clear, compelling messages for internal, public, and adversary-facing audiences.
• Collaborate with DOD commands and interagency partners to ensure synchronized messaging across campaigns.
• Draft messaging frameworks, themes, and talking points for high-profile events and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor communication effectiveness using performance metrics, sentiment analysis, and stakeholder feedback.
• Support rapid communication planning and crisis response for national security issues or reputational threats.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite at The Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
• Public Trust clearance required (or ability to obtain).
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in public affairs, strategic communication, or media relations.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting military or federal agencies in a senior advisory capacity.
• Demonstrated success managing multi-faceted communication campaigns.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Previous experience working onsite at the Pentagon or within a DOD command headquarters.
• Deep knowledge of DOD structure, chain of command, and communication protocols.
