What you will do

• Lead the implementation of software safety programs and align them with industry best practices.
• Derive software safety requirements from system-level hazards and implement robust safety controls.
• Guide architecture decisions to ensure fault tolerance and independence of safety-critical components.
• Define and oversee verification and validation (V&V) strategies, including fault-injection and structural coverage.
• Manage software-related hazards and risks, ensuring effective mitigation and validation.
• Represent Software System Safety during Milestone Reviews (PDR/CDR) and liaise with regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering for high-reliability or safety-critical systems.
• Degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with safety standards such as MIL-STD-882E, DO-178C, or ISO 26262.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Rust, or Python.
• Background in regulated industries including aerospace, automotive, or robotics.
• Experience with SITL/HITL test environments and AI/ML software safety.
