What you will do

• Develop multimodal agents for audio/visual sensors and decision logic to generate structured event outputs.
• Build streaming-friendly pipelines including chunking, normalization, and async execution with robust retry mechanisms.
• Implement prompt-as-code with strict JSON contracts and schema validation.
• Enhance system robustness using fallback behaviors, guardrails, and detailed instrumentation for latency and cost.
• Collaborate with product and domain leads to translate sport rules into validation logic.
• Establish evaluation workflows, regression checks, and mentor team members in data engineering.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend or ML systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Rust.
• Hands-on experience with production LLM or multimodal integrations (Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude).
• Experience with streaming data platforms like Kafka, Pulsar, or Flink.
• Proficiency with AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex AI and version control (Git).
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid from Los Angeles, California.

Nice to have

• Experience in audio ML, speech, acoustic event detection, or media pipelines.
• Knowledge of RAG or rules-based grounding for domain-specific logic.
• Experience with production observability and evaluation practices (golden sets, drift monitoring).
• Ability to optimize cost/latency tradeoffs in model routing and caching.
