Infotainment / Audio Design Engineer (Automotive): Responsible for electrical hardware design of infotainment audio components including speakers and amplifiers for all-electric pick-up trucks and rugged SUVs with an accent on full product lifecycle from concept to manufacturing launch. Focus on developing technical specifications, collaborating with Tier 1 suppliers and VW Group engineers, performing virtual/physical testing, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and U.S. regulations.

What you will do

• Design electrical hardware for infotainment audio components from clean sheet through testing and manufacturing launch.
• Develop technical specifications with Purchasing and Finance for quoting and sourcing.
• Collaborate with Tier 1 suppliers, VW Group module owners, and lead engineers to release components.
• Perform virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
• Participate in DFMEA, ISO 26262, Worst Case Circuit Analysis, and other engineering activities.
• Propose system improvements based on consumer experience and manage suppliers to meet cost, timing, and quality targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or relevant field
• 15+ years of experience in infotainment audio components covering all product development phases
• Knowledge of infotainment software stacks and System-On-Chip for control head design
• Strong technical skills with six-sigma approach to design and problem-solving
• Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE)
• Understanding of infotainment interactions with chassis, drive, OBD, communications, and audio systems
• Practical knowledge of infotainment validation and verification processes
• Project duration: Until 12/31/2030
