Solution Architect Principal (CDN & Edge Compute)

TL;DR

Solution Architect Principal (CDN & Edge Compute): Driving the development and delivery of a pan-BT strategy for edge compute and content delivery with an accent on CDN design and cloud technologies. Focus on creating innovative services for customers, simplifying CDN functions, and delivering strategic transformation through agile methodologies.

Location: Hybrid (3 days a week in office in Birmingham or London, 2 days from anywhere)

What you will do

• Develop and deliver strategy for complex, cross-domain technical opportunities to support hirify.global goals.
• Create and implement technical solutions for Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Edge compute.
• Architect and oversee the implementation of CDN and edge compute solutions for strategic partners.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to engineers and developers across the group.
• Develop design patterns and redefine standards of practice within the CDN/edge domain.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders up to CxO level to facilitate negotiations and provide thought leadership.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing complex solution architectures in a critical service provider environment.
• Deep expertise in software development, IP networking, cloud/server infrastructure, and TV distribution.
• Capability in developing both end-to-end architectures and detailed designs for CDN and edge compute.
• Hands-on experience with both on-premise and public cloud deployments.
• Proficiency in agile methodologies and a track record of delivering large-scale customer-facing products.
• Must be based in the UK and able to work hybridly from Birmingham or London (3 days/week in office).

Nice to have

• Certified Product Owner with practical product management experience.
• Strong background in media production and distribution technologies.
• Previous senior technical leadership experience within a service provider or hyperscaler.
