What you will do

• Improve the lifecycle of microservices and architectural components from design through deployment and refinement.
• Define, evolve, and manage SLOs to ensure sustained operational excellence.
• Develop automation to reduce operational workload, eliminate toil, and increase feature velocity for developers.
• Scale systems sustainably and push for architectural changes that improve reliability.
• Facilitate blame-free root cause analysis and coordinate global incident response (IRC).

Requirements

• 6+ years of industry experience.
• Must be based in San Jose, Costa Rica.
• Deep understanding of AWS Networking, Compute, Storage, and managed services.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
• Ability to write production-ready code in Java, Scala, or Go.
• Experience with Linux systems and cloud-native software security.

Nice to have

• Experience using hirify.global or other observability products for reliability and security.
• Expertise in running and operating SaaS products on AWS at planet-scale.
• Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka, Kafka Streams, or KSQL.
• Extensive experience in tuning JVM workloads at scale.
