What you will do
- Develop and iterate on fraud prediction models using tabular and behavioral data.
- Build and scale feature pipelines and training datasets from proprietary and third-party signals.
- Prototype new modeling ideas, run offline experiments, and drive the best approaches into production.
- Integrate models into batch and real-time decision systems to improve reliability and latency.
- Instrument and monitor model health and define retraining and backtesting workflows.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Fraud Analytics, and Product teams to define requirements and evaluate tradeoffs.
Requirements
- Must be based in Canada
- 2+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or a PhD in a relevant field.
- Strong Python skills and experience writing production-quality code.
- Experience building and evaluating models for tabular classification (e.g., LightGBM, XGBoost, CatBoost).
- Experience with a deep learning framework, preferably PyTorch.
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks, preferably Spark.
- Proficiency with ML lifecycle tools such as Kubeflow, Airflow, or MLflow.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in AI-powered developer tools like Claude Code or Cursor to accelerate development.
