Salary: $292,000 — $365,000 USD

What you will do

• Define and drive long-term performance strategy across product, infrastructure, and business growth.
• Lead architecture and development of performance profiling and instrumentation infrastructure for CPU, GPU, memory, and requests.
• Partner with compute, reliability, backend, and AI infra teams to optimize fleet utilization.
• Connect performance to business objectives and SLOs, guiding teams on scalability.
• Evaluate hardware/software technologies and advise on build vs. buy decisions.
• Mentor engineers organization-wide through reviews, guidance, and best practices.

Requirements

• 12+ years performance engineering in high-scale production environments
• Deep knowledge of software/hardware interactions at scale, including kernel, JVM, post-mortems.
• Strong experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in CPU/GPU/memory profiling, instrumentation, and distributed tracing.
• Proven ability to define SLOs and drive delivery across organizations.
• Strong influence skills to guide senior leadership and non-reporting teams.
