TL;DR

Focus on translating strategic business goals into compelling visual narratives and mentoring design teams to maintain high creative standards.

Location: Hybrid (London, UK) — averaging two to three days onsite

What you will do

  • Lead conceptual thinking, art direction, and design execution for integrated campaigns across OOH, video, social, print, and display.
  • Evolve and safeguard the FT’s premium brand standards to ensure visual consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Art direct external agency output to uphold brand alignment and quality.
  • Manage production processes and build relationships with external creative partners.
  • Implement new creative workflows and stay updated on emerging design trends and tools.
  • Mentor junior designers, providing constructive feedback and creative inspiration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Art Director with a strong portfolio in conceptual thinking and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to align creative concepts with strategic objectives and business goals.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Figma.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to influence partners at all levels.
  • Experience leading shoots and managing production processes to ensure brand alignment.
  • A recognised design qualification (BA/BFA) or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with premium, editorial, or global brands.
  • Familiarity with motion design, animation, or video production (After Effects).
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
