Salary: $161,500 - $191,500 CAD (for British Columbia)

What you will do

• Research and develop algorithms for autonomous voice agents, focusing on real-time speech processing and reasoning loops.
• Optimize hirify.globalGPT using distributed training strategies for agentic behaviors, tool use, and latency-constrained generation.
• Design and implement orchestration layers that chain LLMs with external tools and APIs.
• Work with large-scale multimodal datasets (text, audio) to improve model robustness and alignment.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to deploy scalable, low-latency models in production.
• Contribute to the research culture by submitting papers to top-tier academic conferences such as ACL, EMNLP, and NeurIPS.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 1-2+ years of industry experience in ML/NLP (depending on degree).
• Deep expertise in LLM training, fine-tuning (PEFT/LoRA), and alignment techniques (RLHF/DPO).
• Experience building autonomous agents, including tool use, function calling, and reasoning chains (CoT).
• Strong proficiency in Python and PyTorch for production-ready research code.
• Must be based in or able to work from offices in San Francisco, Vancouver, or Kitchener.

Nice to have

• History of publishing in top-tier conferences (ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, ICASSP).
• Familiarity with speech technologies (ASR, TTS) or processing real-time audio streams.
