What you will do

• Perform professional compliance audits of coding and documentation across multiple specialties and clients.
• Apply coding guidelines including ICD-10-CM, CPT, modifiers, and payer policies; evaluate documentation for medical necessity and adherence to LCDs/NCDs/NCCI.
• Score audits, identify risks, provide mitigation strategies, and prepare detailed reports.
• Deliver audit follow-up education and customized materials to clients remotely or on-site.
• Communicate issues and trends with management, stay current on guidelines, and maintain credentials.

Requirements

• High School diploma required; Associate or BS preferred.
• AHIMA/AAPC credentials (CCS, CPC, etc.) with required AAPC CPMA; active and in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years recent physician coding and 3 years auditing experience; SME in E&M and surgical coding.
• Expert knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, CPT/ICD-10-CM, and Medicare/Medicaid policies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and healthcare systems; strong time management and research skills.
• Experience creating audit plans and educating providers.

Nice to have

• Experience in specialties like Ophthalmology, Behavioral Health, Cardiovascular, Orthopedics, Peds NICU/PICU, FQHC/RHC.
• Google Suite, Epic, eClinicalWorks experience.
• Remote work experience.
