TL;DR

Staff Product Manager (Automotive): Defining and delivering head-up display (HUD) experiences to enhance driver safety and information delivery with an accent on content hierarchy, UX strategy, and hardware integration. Focus on translating customer research into technical requirements and managing cross-functional execution across software, optics, and safety teams.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in Mountain View, CA or Warren, MI). Candidates in Mountain View are expected to travel to Warren, MI one week per month.

Salary: $159,400 – $245,700

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end HUD product vision, strategy, and content hierarchy for driver attention and safety.
• Create and maintain a prioritized roadmap spanning UX, software, and optics hardware.
• Translate customer insights, usability research, and telemetry into product requirements and success metrics.
• Lead cross-functional execution with Design, Engineering, Program, Legal, and Safety teams.
• Ensure compliance alignment for safety-related content and driver assistance messaging.
• Drive continuous improvement through post-launch monitoring, defect triage, and feature iteration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience delivering technology products (embedded, mobile, web, or UX).
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without authority.
• Strong communication skills to synthesize user needs and technical constraints into clear narratives.
• Experience using data, metrics, and human factors research to make product decisions.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with in-vehicle HMI, HUD, or ADAS UX.
• Familiarity with display and optics constraints (brightness, field of view, ghosting).
• Experience partnering with Legal, Regulatory, and Quality teams for compliant feature shipping.
• MBA or advanced degree; automotive or consumer electronics background.
