Staff Software Engineer (Fintech Backend)

What you will do

• Design, implement and maintain Finance service and internal tooling, including financial reporting and reconciliation/audit processes.
• Develop new APIs and functionalities for large money movements via banking partners and payment rails like ACH.
• Scale core platform to support business growth while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Improve daily operations with automation, tooling, design evolution, and observability.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, finance, and engineering to launch new financial features.

Requirements

• 6+ years in software development
• Experience in technical leadership, guiding teams through complex projects
• Experience with Java, Python, Golang, or TypeScript/Node.js
• Strong experience with relational SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases
• Experience designing fault-tolerant, scalable distributed systems
• Experience with AWS services: EKS/ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, VPN, RDS
• Infrastructure as code (AWS CLI, CDK/Terraform)
• Strong communication skills
• Follow and propose engineering best practices
• Experience with finance reporting, reconciliation, complex queries, data mining
